Our Story
For over three decades, restaurateurs Dr. Win and Mrs. Sutida Somboonsong have been a culinary powerhouse. It all started in 1991 when Sutida’s love of cooking led her to open a neighborhood restaurant called Thai Pepper while Dr. Win was serving in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant and earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering . The restaurant introduced Thai and Japanese cuisine to the community and was a win. Sutida’s art background compliments her focus on interior design. Two of their four children, Pearl & Paul, now lead WIN Hospitality alongside a dedicated team of over 300+ members.
Their most recent venture, The Blue Elephant Wayne and Pottstown was designed by their daughter, Mrs. Pearl Somboonsong Murphy, who graduated from Cornell University’s Hospitality Program. After gaining experience working with large restaurant groups in Chicago and New York City, she joined the family business in 2017. As Co-CEO she is now overseeing all operations and leads the way for developing new restaurant concepts.
Mr. Paul Somboonsong, recently joined WIN Hospitality as Co-CEO in 2024, leading its capital allocation strategy and growth initiatives. He joins after ~10 years across global consulting firms BCG & Accenture and investment bank J.P. Morgan. Paul is a graduate from the University of Pennsylvania - Wharton School with concentrations in finance and management.
